This evaluation includes complete inspection of all parts of the instrument, including strings, soundboard, action, keys, pedals, and pinblock. After the evaluation is complete, We will provide a verbal report on the instruments condition using a Poor/Fair/Good/Excellent system for each component. Appraisal - $200 Written appraisals can be performed for selling, buying, insuring, or tax purposes. It is important to note - due to IRS law, Songbird Piano Service can only provide appraisals valued up to $5,000 for tax purposes. Appraisals in excess of that value can be performed by Songbird Piano Services, but can not be considered appropriate documentation for taxes. A proper fine piano tuning can only be done when the piano is close to pitch, as large movements of the strings cause everything else to go out of tune. Generally, if your piano has been tuned within 6-12 months and has been in a stable environment, a fine tuning is adequate to get your instrument sounding fantastic.
